WJLA: Virginia Democrat State Senate majority hinges on Loudoun County special election

Butt said he would like to get rid of Virginia’s annual tax on vehicles.

“Would you like to cut the car tax?” 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked Butt.

“Absolutely,” Butt answered.

“Get rid of it altogether?” Minock asked.

“Absolutely,” Butt answered.

“I’m a dad, first of all, that’s what brought me into this picture to begin with,” Butt added.

Butt is a member of the growing Muslim community in eastern Loudoun County.

In February, Butt organized his Muslim community to attend a Loudoun County School Board meeting to speak out against the school board’s policy that allows biological boys to use biological girls bathrooms and locker rooms at school.

In February, 7News reported on how Butt and members of Loudoun County’s Muslim and Hindu communities asked the Loudoun County School Board to repeal the controversial bathroom and locker room policy.

“I will be your voice to make changes to benefit your kids, make schools better, safer and give privacy back, and bring back the conservative values, and make our educational system a top-notch quality so we can compete against the world,” said Butt.
